The Tests

Just put it on and go play! When adding resistance to the athlete’s motion the body must overcome this resistance, and in doing so the athlete builds strength and power. By placing the weight on the body, the user is now engaging the quick twitch muscle fibers and strengthening both the accelerator and decelerator muscle groups. This enables the athlete to become more powerful in their desired motions. More power translates to increased arm speed when throwing, increased bat/club/racquet speed when swinging and more explosive running and jumping ability. And no matter the strength level of the user, every time the sleeves are used the minimal added resistance will work to build strength and power in the muscles. Therefore, the sleeves can always be used even as the athlete gets stronger.

BASEBALL TESTING

RICE UNIVERSITY BASEBALL CLUB TEAM

+ View Study Overview & Results

Overview: The intent of the study was to measure the improvements of pitching velocity using Phantom’s training program and products. The test was conducted by Dr. James Disch, Kinesiology Professor at Rice University with ball players from the Rice University Club Baseball Team. The players were randomly selected to be in two groups – one group using Phantom sleeves and program and one group using just the program (without sleeves).

Results: In just 6 weeks the players who used the Phantom Sleeves and Program…

Rice University

- ALL players experienced GAINS IN VELOCITY
- +3.8MPH GAINS in velocity on avg w/some players experiencing OVER 5MPH GAINS
- One player GAINED 13MPH!

TEXAS A&M BASEBALL CLUB TEAM

+ View Study Overview & Results

Overview: This 8 week study was to measure performance increases in throwing velocity and increases in velocity of baseballs hit off of a tee. This study was coordinated by the Huffines Institute of Research of Texas A&M University with statistical analysis and testing supervision performed by Dr. Jerome Congleton, PhD, coordinated the study.

Results: In this 8 week study using Phantom Sleeves and Programs players saw…

Throwing Velocity

- Players as a whole experienced GAINS IN VELOCITY
- +6 MPH GAINS in velocity on avg w/some players GAINING nearly 10MPH

Batted Exit Speed

- Hitters as a whole experienced GAINS IN BALL EXIT SPEED
- +5 MPH GAINS in ball exit speed on avg w/some players GAINING 10 MPH
***Equivalent to 25-50 feet in extra distance***

*Note: Research has shown that for every 1 MPH increase in bat speed (bat speed and ball speed are highly correlated), the baseball can travel about 5 feet further (Example: individuals who gained 10 MPH can now hit the ball 50 feet further!)

12 BASEBALL ACADAMEY (AGES 11-15)

+ View Study Overview & Results

Overview: Youth participants (ages 11-15) participated in an 8 week study to measure performance increases in throwing velocity and increases in velocity of baseballs hit off of a tee. The study was coordinated by Huffines Institute of Research of Texas A&M University with statistical analysis and testing supervision performed by Dr. Jerome Congleton, PhD, PE, CPE, Professor, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Performance Coach, at Texas A&M University.

Results: In this study using Phantom Sleeves and Programs, players experienced…

Throwing Velocity

- Players as a whole experienced GAINS IN VELOCITY
- +3.5 MPH GAINS in velocity for many individuals

Batted Exit Speed

- All hitters experienced GAINS IN BALL EXIT SPEED
- +6 MPH GAINS in ball exit speed on avg w/some players GAINING 10 MPH
***Equivalent to 30-50 feet in extra distance***

*Research has shown that for every 1 MPH increase in bat speed (bat speed and ball speed are highly correlated), the baseball can travel about 5 feet further (Example: individuals who gained 10 MPH can now hit the ball 50 feet further!)

GOLF TESTING

TRADITIONS GOLF

+ View Study Overview & Results

Overview: Testing was performed at Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas using the state-of-the-art Trackman launch monitor system. All testing was overseen by the Director of Instruction at Traditions, Jim Baetge with statistical analysis and testing supervision performed by Dr. Jerome Congleton, PhD, PE, CPE, Professor, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Performance Coach, at Texas A&M University. Over the course of 8 weeks, participants had a variety of different aspects measured for their 7-iron and driver club swings.

Results: By using Phantom Sleeves and the Phantom Golf Training Program…

Average 7-Iron Club Speed

- On average, participants experienced INCREASED CLUB SPEED
- +5 MPH GAINS in club speed on avg
***Equivalent to 30-50 feet in extra distance***

Note: Industry research has shown that for every 1 MPH of increase in Club Speed (club speed and ball speed are highly correlated), the golf ball will travel about 3 YARDS further. This “industry standard” ratio will likely continue to increase as technology in golf equipment advances, making Phantom Performance’s Golf Training Solutions even more effective & valuable… (Individuals who saw gains of 10 MPH after using Phantom’s sleeves and program gained about 30 YARDS in distance)

Average Club Speed with Driver

- On average, participants experienced INCREASED CLUB SPEED
- Up to +10 MPH in club speed on average
***Equivalent to 30-50 feet in extra distance***

Note: Industry research has shown that for every 1 MPH of increase in Club Speed (club speed and ball speed are highly correlated), the golf ball will travel about 3 YARDS further. This “industry standard” ratio will likely continue to increase as technology in golf equipment advances, making Phantom Performance’s Golf Training Solutions even more effective & valuable… (Individuals who saw gains of 10 MPH after using Phantom’s sleeves and program gained about 30 YARDS in distance)

Average Distance Increase

- On average, participants experienced INCREASED DISTANCE
- Up to 29 YARD GAINS in distance (7-Iron)
- Up to 86 YARD GAINS in distance (Driver)

RDRBI MOTION ANALYSIS

+ View Study Overview & Results

Overview: The RDRBI Motion Analysis is a method by which the movements of an athlete were captured through the use of high-speed cameras and a reflective marker set. The data is then analyzed to determine the efficiency of energy transfer and potential injury risks. The main tool that is used for evaluating efficiency of energy transfer is called the kinematic sequence. The kinematic sequence is a graph of the angular velocity of the back hip, shoulder, elbow and hand. By looking at the relationship of these velocities to one another, as well as when peak velocity is attained for each part of the body, it can be determined how efficiently energy is being transferred through the body to the hand. Over time, there have been certain inefficiencies discovered through this process to be reliable predictors for injury.

Results: The Phantom Performance weighted sleeves were tested under both pitching and hitting conditions to see whether using the product constituted a significant injury risk. From testing, there were no mechanical inefficiencies created through use of the Phantom weighted sleeves.
